Exosister Irene

Exosister Irene debuted in the 2022 Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG set The Grand Creators, a release designed to introduce three distinct archetypes—the Exosister, P.U.N.K., and Brave Token themes. The Exosister archetype was crafted to feature a unique visual style blending monastic habits with tactical combat gear, centering on a group of warrior nuns tasked with banishing the forces of the underworld. This specific card represents the archetype's thematic focus on graveyard manipulation and quick-effect summons, mirroring the lore of sisters who maintain vigilance against malevolent entities.

The design of the Exosister cards was intended to provide players with a reactive playstyle, where monster effects trigger in response to cards leaving the opponent's graveyard. Exosister Irene, in particular, was received as a utility card within the engine, valued for her ability to facilitate the archetype's core strategy of Xyz Summoning high-ranked monsters. Within the competitive community, the set was noted for bringing fresh mechanics to the game, and Irene became a staple for collectors and players focused on completing the thematic core of the Exosister deck.
