Exosister Martha

Exosister Martha was originally released as part of the Power of the Elements core set in 2022, eventually appearing as a Secret Rare in the 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Heroes Mega Pack in 2023. The Exosister archetype draws thematic inspiration from a fusion of gothic convent aesthetics and energetic magical girl motifs, centered around a group of warriors who commemorate the memories of the departed. The design team crafted these characters to focus on graveyard interaction, creating a playstyle that punishes opponents for manipulating the discard pile.

The artwork for the Exosister cards is noted for its clean, distinct character designs that move away from the traditional dark fantasy aesthetic often found in the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. Upon its release, Martha was immediately recognized by players as a critical component for the archetype's competitive viability, as her ability to special summon herself and another Exosister from the deck provided the consistency the strategy previously lacked. Her inclusion in the 25th Anniversary Tin allowed for a wider release, making the card more accessible to the broader collecting and competitive community.
