Provenance

Where it came from

The Fake Hero spell card was released as part of the Lost Art Promotion in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, a series designed to provide the international market with card illustrations that were previously censored or altered from their original Japanese releases. This specific card, numbered LART-EN052, arrived to fulfill the request for the original artwork that depicts a more evocative scene than the modified versions found in standard booster sets.

The design of the original illustration features a theatrical, stylized aesthetic intended to reflect the card's function of summoning an Elemental HERO from the hand. Created by the artists at Konami, the artwork adheres to the distinct visual style of the early GX era of the game. Its inclusion in the Lost Art Promotion was met with appreciation by long-term collectors and fans of the franchise who value historical fidelity and the preservation of original card aesthetics.
