Fiber Jar

Fiber Jar was originally released in the early years of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, designed by Konami as part of the meta-defining Magic Ruler set in 2002 before appearing in the Dark Beginning 2 compilation set. It was created as a high-impact effect monster intended to completely reset the board state, forcing both players to shuffle their hands, fields, and graveyards back into their decks, a mechanic that introduced a significant element of chaos and tactical recovery into high-level play.

The card's design features the titular creature, a creature composed of tangled fibers, reflecting its ability to weave the game back to its starting parameters. Because of its powerful potential to undo an opponent's advantage, Fiber Jar became notorious within the competitive community. It was eventually moved to the game's Forbidden list, where it remains, as the card's ability to stall games and reset momentum is generally considered too disruptive for modern standard formats.
