Field-Commander Rahz

Field-Commander Rahz was released in 2011 as part of the Starter Deck: Dawn of the Xyz, a product designed to introduce players to the then-new Xyz Summoning mechanic in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. As the game entered the Zexal era, these starter decks were engineered to provide newcomers with a functional base of monsters and support cards that could facilitate the summoning of Rank 4 Xyz monsters, a core component of the updated ruleset.

The card features an effect that allows players to search their deck for a Level 4 or lower Warrior-type monster when it is normal summoned. This design reflects a deliberate strategy by the developers at Konami to reward deck synergy and consistency, particularly for players building Warrior-focused archetypes. While the card is a common rarity intended for wide distribution in introductory products, its ability to thin the deck and set up board states earned it a place in the arsenals of budget-conscious players during the early Zexal period.
