Fortune Lady Calling

Fortune Lady Calling was released in 2019 as part of the Rising Rampage booster set, a core set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The card was designed to provide long-overdue support for the Fortune Lady archetype, a series of spellcaster monsters originally introduced in the 5D's era that rely on changing their levels to trigger various effects. By allowing the player to special summon a Fortune Lady monster directly from the deck, it significantly improved the consistency and explosive potential of a theme that had previously struggled to keep pace with the modern meta-game.

The artwork features the Fortune Lady characters, designed with the distinct, whimsical aesthetic characteristic of the theme's lore, which centers around the manipulation of fortune and temporal state. Within the community, the card was received positively by casual players and fans of the archetype, as it functioned as a vital play-starter that unified the playstyle. Its status as an ultra-rare in the set reflected its utility in enabling complex card combos, marking it as a quintessential piece for collectors of 5D's-inspired support.
