Gabrion, the Timelord

Gabrion, the Timelord made its North American debut in the 2018 set Battles of Legend: Relentless Revenge. As part of the Timelord archetype, which was originally introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, the card represents the final boss monster of the character Z-one. The design draws heavily from Judeo-Christian angelology, with its visual identity intended to evoke a sense of celestial, overwhelming power that reflects the anime's apocalyptic narrative themes.

The card was designed to be a potent control tool, featuring an effect that shuffles the opponent's field into the deck while punishing them with draw effects. Within the competitive community, the Timelord series is often categorized by its unique summoning condition and field presence, which prioritize board disruption over traditional combat. The Ultra Rare printing in this set was well-received by players for its metallic finish, which complements the intricate, otherworldly artwork associated with the card's divine motifs.
