Genex Power Planner

The Genex Power Planner was introduced in the Duel Terminal 1 expansion set, which debuted in the western market around 2010. This set was designed to integrate with the Duel Terminal arcade machines, a specialized gaming platform found in select hobby shops that allowed players to scan physical cards to use digital versions of their monsters in battle. As part of the Genex archetype, the card fits into a thematic group of machines that revolve around manipulating attributes and levels to gain a tactical advantage on the field.

The artwork for the Genex series, including the Power Planner, reflects a distinct aesthetic of intricate, modular machinery and elemental cores. These designs were produced by the artists at Konami’s design studio, aiming to create a cohesive mechanical narrative that would contrast with the more organic themes found in other concurrent card sets.
