Ghostrick Alucard

Ghostrick Alucard was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in the Shadow Specters booster set before being reprinted as a Rare in the 2016 Wing Raiders special booster. The card is part of the Ghostrick archetype, a deck theme defined by a whimsical, gothic-horror aesthetic that utilizes face-down defense position mechanics to control the board. The monsters in this series are designed to mimic classic Halloween tropes, with Alucard serving as the primary Xyz support monster for the set.

The character design draws directly from traditional vampire iconography, rendered in the playful, exaggerated art style characteristic of the Ghostrick line. By utilizing two level-three monsters for its Xyz summon, Alucard was intended to provide utility to players by allowing them to destroy face-down cards while simultaneously retrieving other Ghostrick cards from the graveyard. It remains a staple for enthusiasts of the theme due to its functional synergy and cohesive visual design.
