Golden Dragon Summoner

Golden Dragon Summoner was released in 2014 as part of the Super Starter: Space-Time Showdown deck for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This product was designed as an introductory set intended to help new players transition into the mechanics of the Pendulum Summoning era, which had recently been introduced to the game. As a common rarity card within a starter deck, it served as a foundational piece meant to provide players with accessible tools for board control and monster recruitment.

The card features an effect that allows players to tribute a monster to search their deck, reflecting the strategic emphasis on consistency and resource management prevalent in the game's design at the time. Like most cards in this starter set, the artwork was developed by the Konami design team to fit the cosmic, futuristic aesthetic of the Space-Time Showdown theme. It was received by the community primarily as a functional, entry-level card designed to teach the fundamentals of card advantage rather than as a centerpiece for competitive tournament play.
