Gouki Moonsault

Gouki Moonsault was first introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Cybernetic Horizon expansion in 2018, before being reprinted as a common card in the 2019 Gold Sarcophagus Tin Mega Pack. The Gouki archetype, originating from the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime, was designed around a wrestling theme, with each monster representing a high-flying luchador. The cards were conceptualized by Konami's design team to facilitate a link-summoning playstyle that rewards players for swapping monsters on the field to gain field advantage.

The artwork for Gouki Moonsault depicts a masked wrestler in a dynamic mid-air pose, leaning into the archetype's thematic focus on spectacle and professional wrestling maneuvers. As a common card in the 2019 mega pack, it served as an accessible tool for players looking to complete their Gouki deck builds during a period where the archetype remained a significant presence in the competitive landscape. Its reception was largely defined by its utility as a combo-extender, allowing players to bridge the gap between their smaller Gouki monsters and more powerful boss monsters.
