Grand Knight of the Red Lotus

Grand Knight of the Red Lotus was released as part of the Supreme Darkness booster set, a core addition to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Introduced as an effect monster, it serves as a representative of the card game's ongoing mechanical evolution, where Konami frequently updates older archetypes or themes with new support cards to maintain competitive engagement. Its design reflects the high-fantasy aesthetic signature to the game, characterized by elaborate, ornate armor and a thematic focus on warrior-class units.

The artwork for cards in the Supreme Darkness set is produced by the internal design team at Konami. Like many common-rarity cards in the set, this piece functions as a building block for deck builders, providing specific utility without the manufacturing complexity of higher-rarity holographic foils. It was received by the player base as a standard addition to the game's expansive library, primarily utilized by collectors and players looking to complete their set documentation or explore the specific tactical synergies afforded by its effect.
