Gravekeeper's Servant

Gravekeeper's Servant was first released as a common spell card in the 2002 Spell Ruler expansion, which served as the third main booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in North America. The card was designed to support the Gravekeeper archetype, introducing a defensive mechanic that forces opponents to send the top card of their deck to the graveyard whenever they attempt to attack, effectively introducing a milling penalty to combat.

The card's aesthetic and mechanical identity draw from the Egyptian-themed lore central to the early years of the game. While the card is a standard common rarity, its design reflects the intricate, often gothic art style favored by the franchise's illustrators during the early 2000s, aiming to evoke a sense of ancient, cursed protection that aligns with the broader thematic focus of the Spell Ruler set on utility-based spell cards.
