Hamburger Recipe

The Hamburger Recipe card was released in 2002 as part of the Spell Ruler expansion for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. As a Ritual Spell card, it serves a specific mechanical purpose within the game, allowing players to summon the Hungry Burger monster by offering a specific tribute of monsters. The card is reflective of the early, quirky design philosophy of the Konami-published TCG, which frequently drew from the idiosyncratic monster designs seen in the original manga and anime series.

The artwork and conceptualization were developed under the creative direction of Kazuki Takahashi’s team. During this era, the game leaned into culinary-themed monster designs, a playful departure from more traditional fantasy archetypes. While the card is a common rarity and does not hold significant competitive value, it remains a nostalgic touchstone for collectors of the original printings, symbolizing the eclectic and imaginative spirit of the game's initial North American expansion sets.
