Hero Counterattack

Hero Counterattack was originally released in the GX-era expansion, specifically arriving in the North American market through the Legendary Collection 2: The Duel Academy Years Mega Pack. This card draws its thematic inspiration from the Elemental HERO archetype popularized by Jaden Yuki in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX animated series, serving as a reactive support trap intended to punish opponents who target the player's board.

The card features an effect that allows a player to reveal cards from their hand to destroy an attacking monster, emphasizing the high-stakes, combo-heavy playstyle associated with HERO decks during that period of the game's evolution. As a common rarity inclusion in a set designed to aggregate popular GX-era cards, it served as an accessible utility piece for players looking to bolster their defensive options with familiar anime-inspired card art.
