Hero of the East

Hero of the East was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a common normal monster during the early years of the game. Its inclusion in the Legendary Collection 4: Joey's World Mega Pack, released in 2013, served as a nostalgic nod to the early card pools featured in the original animated series. This set was specifically designed to celebrate the deck composition and signature monsters associated with the character Joey Wheeler, bringing together various cards that defined his journey through the Duelist Kingdom and Battle City arcs.

The card features artwork consistent with the aesthetic of early-era Yu-Gi-Oh! monsters, characterized by a simplistic, fantasy-warrior design typical of the 1999-2002 development period. Like many normal monsters from this timeframe, Hero of the East does not possess unique effects, functioning instead as a fundamental component of the game's initial mechanical framework. It remains a representative piece for collectors focused on completing sets that catalogue the evolution of the game's foundational card library.
