Icy Crevasse

Icy Crevasse was released in the 2013 Star Pack, a series designed to provide accessible entry points for players by reprinting popular cards from the Yu-Gi-Oh! animated series. This particular trap card was modeled after the high-stakes duels depicted in the show, where environmental hazards often played a pivotal role in shifting the momentum of a match.

The card’s illustration and function were crafted to capture the tactical, defensive nature of competitive play during that era. By allowing a player to destroy a monster when an opponent’s card is removed from the field by a card effect, it emphasizes the strategic anticipation required in the game. It was received by players as a situational utility tool, typical of the common-rarity cards intended to fill out decks during that period of the game's evolution.
