Provenance

Where it came from

The Illegal Knight was originally introduced as part of the Burst of Destiny core booster set in 2021. As a monster card within the Brave Token engine, it was designed to function alongside the Rite of Aramesir, providing players with a high-level wind-attribute monster that could be summoned from the hand by returning a Brave Token to the deck. Its aesthetic reflects the overarching fantasy lore of the Brave Token series, which features a narrative of wandering adventurers and magical artifacts.

The 25th Anniversary Tin: Dueling Heroes Mega Pack, released in 2023, served as a retrospective collection that reprinted popular cards from various sets released between 2021 and 2022. The inclusion of Illegal Knight (MP23-EN072) as an ultra-rare holographic card allowed players to obtain this tactical piece in a premium finish. The card design maintains the distinct visual language of Konami’s Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, characterized by intricate mechanical and fantasy-themed armor, and it remains a utilitarian staple for players who utilize the Brave Token archetype in competitive play.
