Provenance

Where it came from

Invocation was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a core component of the Fusion Summoning mechanic for the Invoked archetype. It first appeared in the 2017 core booster set Fusion Enforcers, designed to streamline the summoning of powerful Fusion Monsters by utilizing resources from both the field and the Graveyard. The card was strategically engineered to offer versatility, allowing players to bridge various attributes and archetypes, which cemented its status as a staple in competitive deck building.

The OTS Tournament Pack 6 iteration, released in 2018, features the card in an Ultimate Rare finish, a high-tier rarity distinguished by its textured, embossed surface and metallic sheen. These packs are distributed exclusively through the Official Tournament Store program to support local play, making the Ultimate Rare print a coveted collector's item. Its design aesthetic reflects the high-fantasy, mystical art style synonymous with the franchise, focusing on the dark, ethereal imagery of the Invoked theme.
