Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru

Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru was introduced as the central engine for the Koa'ki Meiru archetype, a series of monsters released in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game beginning in 2009. The archetype was designed around a high-maintenance mechanic where powerful monsters required the player to either reveal this specific card or discard a monster of a matching type to remain on the field during each end phase. This design created a distinct playstyle that prioritized consistency and resource management, forcing players to build their decks specifically to support the presence of the Core.

The card was later included in the second Turbo Pack, TU02-EN020, as a common-rarity reprint. Turbo Packs were specialized sets distributed primarily through the Official Tournament Store program, aimed at providing players with access to competitive staples and essential utility cards. The design of the card, featuring its distinctive glowing, mechanical aesthetic, reflects the industrial and elemental theme of the Koa'ki Meiru units, which were depicted as synthetic warriors created to defend the world against external threats.
