Jar of Greed

Jar of Greed was originally released in the early sets of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, serving as one of the most recognizable staple cards of the game's formative years. The card’s design, featuring the iconic Pot of Greed creature rendered in a more mischievous, trap-like depiction, was intended to provide players with a simple way to replace a card in their hand, offering a fundamental tactical advantage that remained relevant across many meta shifts.

The Ultimate Tournament Pack 2 (UP02-EN047) printing represents a specific release period where high-utility cards were issued for tournament-goers. This version is prized for its accessibility as a common-rarity print, reflecting the game's focus on balance during that era. It was designed to be a reliable, low-cost option for deck building, and it remains a quintessential piece of the game's history, valued by collectors for its role in defining the early mechanical identity of trap cards.
