Junk Sleep

Junk Sleep was released in August 2020 as part of the Rise of the Duelist booster set for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. This set was notable for introducing cards that supported the Dogmatika and Infernoble Knight archetypes, while also featuring various standalone support cards. Junk Sleep was designed as a continuous trap card intended to provide defensive utility by shifting monsters between attack and defense positions during the standby phase, reflecting the game's ongoing focus on manipulating battle positions to disrupt opponent strategies.

The card features an illustration depicting a playful, slumbering machine-like creature, consistent with the thematic naming convention of the Junk archetype associated with the character Yusei Fudo from the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime. As a common rarity card, it was widely distributed among players opening Rise of the Duelist packs. While it did not see extensive competitive play, it remains a recognized example of the filler utility cards that populate modern core booster sets, intended primarily for casual play or niche strategy experimentation.
