Lady Assailant of Flames

Lady Assailant of Flames was introduced in the Labyrinth of Nightmare booster set, which debuted in the North American TCG market in 2002. This set was pivotal for the game, as it expanded the strategic depth of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game by introducing dark-themed monsters and new support cards that helped diversify deck-building beyond the basic archetypes established in the earliest sets.

The card features an illustration consistent with the aesthetic direction of the early Konami development team, who leaned into fantasy-inspired character designs characterized by sharp lines and vibrant, aggressive color palettes. As a common rarity card, it was widely available to players upon release and served as a functional piece of card stock intended for casual play rather than competitive tournament optimization, which reflects the design philosophy of filling out early expansion sets with accessible, flavorful monster cards.
