Leviair the Sea Dragon

Leviair the Sea Dragon was introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in 2011 as part of the Photon Shockwave set, specifically designed as a Rank 3 Xyz Monster. The card belongs to the Xyz era of the game, a period marked by the introduction of a new summoning mechanic that required players to overlay two monsters of the same level to access powerful effects. This specific reprint, numbered BP03-EN117, appeared in the 2014 Battle Pack 3: Monster League, a set curated to simulate a draft-style play environment where players build decks on the fly.

The card was designed by the creative team at Konami to provide utility to decks capable of swarming the field with Level 3 monsters. Its art depicts a serpentine, aquatic entity, emphasizing the theme of sea-dwelling beasts often found in early and mid-era card archetypes. Within the competitive community, Leviair has remained a staple for many years due to its ability to special summon banished monsters back to the field, making it a strategic choice for decks that utilize banishing mechanics to fuel their momentum.
