Lord of the Heavenly Prison

Lord of the Heavenly Prison was originally released in the 2021 core booster set Burst of Destiny before being reprinted as a Secret Rare in the 2022 Tin of the Pharaoh's Gods. Designed as a powerful utility monster, it was intended to provide backrow-heavy decks with both offensive pressure and defensive protection for their set cards. Its thematic design reflects a celestial guardian, utilizing a high-attack body and an effect that discourages opponents from destroying set spells or traps while it remains on the field.

The card was received by the competitive community as a high-impact staple upon its debut. Players valued it for its ability to search for any spell or trap card from the deck while simultaneously acting as a formidable defender. As part of the 2022 Tin of the Pharaoh's Gods, which served to consolidate popular cards from the previous year's releases, the reprint provided players with a more accessible version of the card, further solidifying its role in the metagame as a versatile defensive asset.
