Malevolent Nuzzler

The Malevolent Nuzzler was introduced in the Magic Ruler expansion, released internationally in 2002 as the English-language equivalent of the Japanese Magic Ruler set. As an Equip Spell card, it was designed to provide a modest 700-point boost to a monster's attack while requiring the player to discard a card to activate it. This design reflected the early mechanics of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, which often balanced incremental power increases with resource costs, a staple of the game's initial strategic landscape.

The card's artwork features a distinctive, somewhat unsettling creature, typical of the aesthetic direction during the game's formative years under Kazuki Takahashi and his illustration team.
