Man-Eater Bug

Man-Eater Bug was released as part of the Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon set in 2002, the inaugural expansion for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game in North America. This set was designed to introduce the foundational mechanics of the game to Western players, adapting cards that had previously been available only in the Japanese OCG market. The card features a design inspired by classic B-movie horror tropes, depicting a predatory plant that reflects the darker, more monstrous aesthetic present in the early years of the game's creature roster.

As a Super Rare card in the set, Man-Eater Bug became a cornerstone of early competitive play due to its flip effect, which allows a player to destroy one monster on the field upon being flipped face-up.
