Mecha Phantom Beast Hamstrat

Mecha Phantom Beast Hamstrat was released in 2013 as part of the Lord of the Tachyon Galaxy booster set. The card introduces the Mecha Phantom Beast archetype, a group of Wind-attribute Machine monsters themed around aeronautics and flight. These monsters typically feature a mechanic where they generate 'Mecha Phantom Beast Tokens,' representing the aircraft's support or crew, which provide both defensive utility and resource management for the player.

The design of the card, illustrated by Konami's internal artists, draws inspiration from real-world stealth technology and aeronautical engineering, fused with the whimsical aesthetic typical of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game. Upon its release, the card was received as a key component for the archetype, valued for its ability to special summon tokens from the graveyard, which facilitated the strategy's reliance on tribute summoning and rank-four Xyz plays. The Ultimate Rare printing of this card is particularly sought after for its textured foil finish, which highlights the intricate mechanical details of the artwork.
