Messenger of Peace

Messenger of Peace was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game during the early 2000s, serving as a tactical continuous spell card designed to stall aggressive playstyles. By forcing players to pay life points to maintain the card on the field, it creates a high-stakes defensive perimeter that prevents monsters with high attack values from declaring attacks, forcing a shift in strategy toward resource management and attrition.

The card features artwork depicting a serene, angelic figure associated with the light attribute archetype. The aesthetic follows the tradition of early card design within the game, favoring mystical and symbolic imagery to convey its gameplay effect of pacification. When included in the Retro Pack, which sought to reprint iconic cards from the game's formative years, it was classified as a rare, ensuring its accessibility for players who valued its utility in control-oriented deck builds.
