Mind Control

The Mind Control card, identified as WC5-EN003, was released as a promotional item bundled with the Game Boy Advance title Yu-Gi-Oh! 7 Trials to Glory: World Championship Tournament 2005. Like other promotional releases of this era, the card was included in the game’s packaging to encourage sales and provide players with a competitive advantage in the real-world trading card game. The card itself features artwork depicting a mystical, tethered influence, consistent with the thematic elements of the game's spell card category.

Designed by Konami, the card's mechanics were crafted to offer strategic utility by allowing a player to take temporary control of an opponent's monster. Within the broader Yu-Gi-Oh! meta-game, Mind Control became a significant card due to its versatility in disrupting enemy formations and enabling special summon maneuvers. Its release in this promotional set remains a notable moment for collectors, as it offered a specifically branded super-rare version of a card that would become a staple in many competitive deck builds throughout the mid-2000s.
