Mistaken Arrest

Mistaken Arrest was introduced in the Clash of Rebellions set, released in the West during the summer of 2015. As a Normal Spell card, it reflects the game's evolving mechanical focus during the Arc-V era, specifically targeting the prevalence of searching effects that defined competitive play at the time. By forcing both players to forgo adding cards from their deck to their hand for the remainder of the turn, the card was designed as a proactive tool to disrupt combo-heavy strategies.

The card's artwork features a dramatic, cinematic composition consistent with the visual language of the Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game, utilizing the Secret Rare foil treatment to highlight its high rarity status. While not a staple in every tournament deck, it represents a specific design philosophy where Konami introduced side-deck options meant to punish search-intensive archetypes, serving as a technical counter-measure that rewards players for correctly predicting their opponent's playstyle.
