Provenance

Where it came from

Multiply was introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Crimson Crisis booster set, which debuted in the English market in early 2009. This card acts as a thematic homage to the original Kuriboh support cards used by Yugi Muto in the early seasons of the anime, specifically designed to help players swarm the field with tokens by tributing a single monster. It reflects the era's focus on maintaining board presence through classic monster types, aiming to evoke nostalgia for players familiar with the core series.

The card artwork features the iconic Kuriboh creatures in a state of rapid duplication, capturing the playful yet strategic nature of the monster. As a super-rare pull within the Crimson Crisis set, it was primarily sought after by casual players and deck builders focusing on attribute or creature-type synergies. While it did not redefine the competitive meta upon release, it remains a recognized piece of card history for its direct ties to one of the most recognizable mascot monsters in the franchise.
