Necrolancer the Time-lord

Necrolancer the Time-lord was released as part of Tournament Pack 8 in the mid-2000s, a series of booster packs distributed exclusively to hobby stores for use in sanctioned Yu-Gi-Oh! organized play events. These packs were designed to provide players with access to staple cards and promotional items as rewards for tournament participation, rather than for general retail sale. As a common card within this specific set, it served as a functional piece for players building out their card pools during the game's competitive expansion.

The character design reflects the gothic and dark fantasy aesthetic prevalent in the early Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game era, echoing the series' fascination with afterlife and time-manipulation themes. As a normal monster, the card lacks specific ability text, positioning it as a foundational piece of game lore rather than a high-level tactical asset. Its visual style aligns with the era's emphasis on intricate, often unsettling creature illustrations that defined the TCG's identity during the transition into the GX-era of game mechanics.
