Noble Arms - Clarent

Noble Arms - Clarent was introduced in the 2018 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion Cybernetic Horizon. As a piece of support for the Noble Knight archetype, it draws heavily from Arthurian legend, specifically the mythical sword Clarent, which is often depicted in literature as a weapon of betrayal held by Mordred. The card design continues the series' established aesthetic of ornate, medieval-inspired weaponry, serving as a tactical equipment spell that allows a monster to attack the opponent directly at the cost of life points.

The card was designed to provide the Noble Knight deck with a specific offensive option, reflecting the archetype's gimmick of utilizing various 'Noble Arms' to bolster warriors. Within the meta context of the Cybernetic Horizon release, the card was received as a functional, if niche, utility tool. Like other cards in the Noble Arms sub-series, it was illustrated to emphasize the legendary status of the weapon, maintaining the consistent visual language expected by players familiar with the Noble Knight lore and gameplay mechanics.
