Noble Knight Joan

Noble Knight Joan was released in the 2013 booster set Cosmo Blazer, a cornerstone of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game era that introduced the Fire Fist and Mermail archetypes. As part of the Noble Knight series, the card drew inspiration from Arthurian legend, specifically adapting the Joan of Arc figure into the thematic framework of honorable warriors bound by swords and chivalry. The card was designed to function as an aggressive light-attribute warrior, balancing its high attack power with a taxing effect that requires discarding a card each time it battles.

The artwork follows the distinct aesthetic established by the Noble Knight set, characterized by ornate, gothic-inspired plate armor and a muted, regal color palette. Upon its release, the card was viewed as a flavorful addition to the growing Noble Knight support pool, though it saw limited competitive play compared to the more central engine pieces of its set. It remains a representative example of the series' commitment to blending historical and mythological archetypes with the tactical, resource-management mechanics of the game.
