Number 39: Utopia originated as the flagship monster for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Zexal anime series, central to the protagonist Yuma Tsukumo's deck. It represents the first iteration of the Xyz Monster mechanic introduced in the 2011 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game set, Starter Deck: Dawn of the Xyz. The Duelist League 14 version, released under the code DL14-EN010, was distributed as a participation reward during organized play events.
