Number 61: Volcasaurus

Number 61: Volcasaurus was first introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Justice Hunters booster set. The card belongs to the Number archetype, a collection of monsters central to the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL series, where they are depicted as powerful, otherworldly entities that grant their owners unique abilities. Its design reflects the series' penchant for blending mechanical elements with draconic or beast-like features, aiming to represent both raw destructive power and the tactical complexity inherent in Xyz Summoning.

The card was designed to capitalize on the Rank 5 Xyz meta, providing players with a direct burn damage effect that forces interaction with the opponent's board. Upon its release, it was well-received by competitive players for its ability to clear high-attack monsters while simultaneously dealing significant damage. The artwork, characterized by its molten, volcanic aesthetic, reinforces its role as an offensive powerhouse that punishes opponents for maintaining a static field.
