Oasis of Dragon Souls

The Oasis of Dragon Souls was introduced in the 2014 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game expansion set, The New Challengers. This set was designed to support the Pendulum Summoning mechanic introduced earlier that year, providing players with new archetypes and support cards that could bridge the gap between classic monster summoning and the newer, faster pace of the game. As a trap card, it reflects the ongoing tactical evolution of the game, offering a defensive mechanism that rewards players for committing to dragon-focused strategies.

The card's design features artwork consistent with the high-fantasy aesthetic typical of the Yu-Gi-Oh! franchise, focusing on the mystical interplay between spirit and combat. Like many cards in this era of the game, it was created by the Konami design team to provide niche utility for Dragon-type decks, allowing players to Special Summon a dragon from their graveyard by banishing a different one. It was received as a situational but flavorful tool for players dedicated to Dragon-themed builds, fitting into the broader catalogue of support cards intended to keep older monster types relevant against modern gameplay innovations.
