Particle Fusion

Particle Fusion was released in the Duel Terminal 6b set, which debuted in the Western market in the early 2010s. The card served as a specific support spell for the Gem-Knight archetype, a group of Earth-attribute monsters focused on fusion summoning. The Duel Terminal arcade cabinets were a unique Konami initiative that allowed players to scan physical cards to simulate duels on a screen, and the cards released within these sets often featured an exclusive, distinct parallel foil finish that became a hallmark of the series.

The design of the card reflects the aesthetic evolution of the Gem-Knight series, emphasizing themes of resonance and crystalline energy. Like many support spells of the era, the illustration and mechanical utility were crafted to enable quick, resource-efficient fusions, helping players navigate the faster pace of the game at the time. While the card is primarily noted by enthusiasts for its contribution to Gem-Knight deck consistency, it remains a specific memento of the Duel Terminal era’s experimental approach to integrating arcade gaming with the physical trading card experience.
