Performage Trick Clown

Performage Trick Clown was introduced in the 2015 Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game booster set Clash of Rebellions. The card belongs to the Performage archetype, a series of circus-themed monsters used by the character Dennis Macfield in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V anime series. The design leans into a vibrant, manic aesthetic meant to evoke the chaotic nature of a performance-based dueling style, with the card's ability to special summon itself from the graveyard upon being sent there serving as a foundational engine piece for various competitive strategies during its release era.

The artwork, consistent with the broader Performage set, features a stylized, unsettling harlequin figure that reflects the archetype's focus on high-risk, high-reward play. While the card is a common rarity, its utility in enabling Xyz and Synchro plays led it to see significant tournament play shortly after its release. It is regarded by players as a staple utility card that exemplifies the shift toward graveyard-reliant mechanics prevalent in the mid-2010s competitive meta.
