Performapal Barracuda

Performapal Barracuda was introduced in the Duelist Pack: Dimensional Guardians, a set designed to bolster the archetypes utilized by Yuya Sakaki in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V animated series. Released to coincide with the conclusion of the series, the pack focused on supporting the Pendulum Summoning mechanic, which had defined the era of the show. The card was created to provide utility to the Performapal deck, allowing players to manipulate the Pendulum Scales to facilitate high-level summons.

The artwork follows the distinct aesthetic of the Performapal series, which blends circus-inspired imagery with aquatic or predatory creature designs. The character design team aimed to balance the whimsical nature of the Performapal theme with the competitive requirements of a Pendulum monster. Upon its release, it was regarded by players as a niche tactical inclusion within the archetype, prized more by collectors of the Dimensional Guardians set than for its impact on the high-level tournament meta.
