Phantom Gryphon

Phantom Gryphon was released in 2015 as part of the Crossed Souls booster set, the seventy-third core set in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Following the shift toward Pendulum-focused gameplay introduced in the Arc-V era, this set aimed to expand the repertoire of available monsters and archetypes for competitive and casual play. As a normal monster, Phantom Gryphon represents a traditional design element of the game, serving primarily as a piece of thematic flavor within the broader release rather than a central mechanic.

The card features an illustration depicting a spectral, avian-feline hybrid creature consistent with the mythic aesthetic common to the franchise's monster roster. Its design reflects the standard fantasy tropes often utilized by Konami’s internal design team to populate the lower tiers of the set's rarity list. While it did not alter the competitive landscape, it remains a recognized common card for collectors who focus on the completion of the Crossed Souls set and the specific artistic continuity of the Arc-V card series.
