Pot of Extravagance

Pot of Extravagance was originally introduced as a Secret Rare in the 2019 core set Savage Strike. Designed as a high-risk, high-reward draw engine, the card allows players to banish cards from their Extra Deck to draw two new cards, effectively trading long-term resource flexibility for immediate card advantage. It became a staple in competitive decks that do not rely heavily on their Extra Deck, fundamentally altering how players built their sideboards and resource management systems.

The inclusion of this specific printing in the 2022 Structure Deck: Albaz Strike (SDAZ-EN028) marked a significant moment for the accessibility of the game. By moving the card from a high-rarity chase item to a common-rarity structure deck inclusion, Konami provided budget-conscious players with a more affordable path to high-level competitive play. Its inclusion in the Albaz Strike deck is widely cited by the community as a positive step in lowering the barrier to entry for modern dueling mechanics.
