Power Angel Valkyria

Power Angel Valkyria was released in the 2017 Structure Deck: Wave of Light, a product designed to bolster the Counter Fairy archetype within the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. The deck was themed around celestial, light-attribute monsters and the use of Counter Trap cards to disrupt the opponent's plays, drawing on thematic motifs of divine judgment and angelic hierarchy that have been staples of the game since its inception.

The card's design features the typical aesthetic of the Fairy type, utilizing a high-fantasy, ethereal art style that prioritizes intricate armor and dramatic, wing-focused silhouettes. Mechanically, the card serves as a search engine for the archetype, rewarding the player for successfully activating Counter Traps by allowing them to add fairy monsters to their hand. Its reception was largely confined to dedicated players of the archetype, who valued it for providing the necessary consistency to make Counter Trap-based strategies more viable in competitive play.
