Power of Kaishin

The Power of Kaishin was released as part of the Legend of Blue Eyes White Dragon set, the inaugural English-language expansion for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. Launched in 2002 by Upper Deck in partnership with Konami, this set introduced players to the fundamental mechanics of the game as adapted from the popular manga and anime series. As a common rarity spell card, Power of Kaishin served as a basic tool for deck building, intended to provide early players with support for specific monster types during the game's formative period.

The card's design aesthetic mirrors the minimalist layout typical of the original Japanese OCG prints, featuring an elemental icon and a straightforward text box. Like many cards in the early sets, it reflects a period when the game was finding its identity; the illustrations were often outsourced to a pool of artists tasked with capturing the mystical tone of Kazuki Takahashi's source material. While it is not considered a competitive staple, the card remains a nostalgic touchstone for collectors who prioritize the historic 2002 print run.
