Pulse Mines

Pulse Mines was originally introduced to the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as a Super Rare card in the 2014 Primal Origin booster set. Designed as a defensive trap card specifically for Machine-type decks, it allows players to switch all face-up Attack Position monsters their opponent controls to Defense Position and prevents those monsters from changing their battle positions for a turn. The card was created to provide Machine-based archetypes, such as Geargia or Karakuri, with a reliable tool to stall opponents and control the board state.

The 2018 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, which featured this specific common printing (MP18-EN080), served as a compilation release intended to make a variety of powerful cards from the preceding year more accessible to players. By reprinting Pulse Mines in a common rarity, Konami allowed budget-conscious players easier access to the card's defensive utility. While the card did not revolutionize the competitive meta upon its release, it remained a staple utility piece for casual and rogue Machine decks looking to disrupt aggressive strategies.
