Re: EX

Re: EX was originally released as part of the 2018 Mega-Tin Mega Pack, a compilation set designed to consolidate powerful cards from the previous year of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game. These tins functioned as an annual retrospective, allowing players to acquire high-rarity cards from core booster sets like Code of the Duelist and Circuit Break in a more accessible format. The card itself represents the Cyberse monster type, which was introduced during the VRAINS era to reflect the game's shift toward digital-themed aesthetics and mechanics.

The design of Re: EX follows the visual conventions of the Cyberse archetype, featuring sharp, technological lines and a neon-infused color palette consistent with the high-speed, virtual environment depicted in the VRAINS anime series. As an effect monster, it was designed to provide utility within the Extra Link strategies prevalent during the 2018 competitive landscape. Upon its inclusion in the Mega Pack, the card was widely received by players as a functional budget-friendly option for players seeking to bolster their deck's removal capabilities without relying on more expensive staple cards.
