Reanimation Wave

Reanimation Wave was introduced as part of the Duelist Revolution booster set, which hit North American shelves in late 2010. This expansion marked a significant period for the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as it introduced the powerful 'Synchro' and 'Xyz' era mechanics, shifting the meta-game toward faster, more aggressive play styles. The card serves as a thematic piece within the game's broader lore, drawing on tropes of necromancy and mystical resurgence that define the genre.

The card's design features the signature illustration style of the Konami internal art team, utilizing high-contrast colors and dramatic, action-oriented framing common to the era's trap cards. Like many Rare-tier cards from this set, it was designed to provide utility to specialized deck archetypes, offering a tactical advantage for players seeking to recover fallen monsters. Its reception was largely tempered by the highly competitive nature of the game, where it remains a recognized example of mid-tier defensive support from the classic era of the TCG.
