Provenance

Where it came from

Reload was originally introduced as a common card in the Magician's Force expansion set in 2003, designed to provide players with a strategic way to refresh their hands. The card reflects the early philosophy of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game, where players often sought ways to mitigate the disadvantage of drawing dead-weight cards, allowing them to shuffle their hand back into the deck and redraw the same number of cards.

Dark Revelation Volume 2 was released in 2005 as a compilation set intended to reprint highly sought-after cards from earlier expansions. By elevating Reload to super-rare status in this set, Konami provided collectors with a holographic foil version of a functional utility spell. Its design remains consistent with the aesthetic of the early Konami era, featuring the iconic spell card layout that characterized the game's initial rise in popularity.
