Where it came from
Restoration of the Monarchs was originally introduced in the Yu-Gi-Oh! Trading Card Game as part of the Breakers of Shadow set in 2016. It serves as a continuous spell card designed to support the Monarch archetype, a long-standing group of monsters known for their powerful tribute summon mechanics. The card was conceptualized to provide players with additional utility by enabling the special summoning of Monarch monsters from the graveyard, provided specific tribute requirements were met.
The 2019 Gold Sarcophagus Tin Mega Pack reprint, featuring this card as a common, was released to provide accessible versions of popular competitive cards to the wider player base. This specific print maintains the original illustration, which depicts a thematic revival of the monarchical figures central to the card's lore. Like many common-rarity reprints in this line, it was received primarily as a functional utility piece for budget-conscious deck builders rather than a collector's showpiece.
